Gathering resources in New World can be a pain, especially when searching for that specific item. You could end up whiling away hours walking across Aeternum on the hunt, only to give up empty-handed.

The trick to success while gathering any rare resource in New World is to increase your Luck in that specific Gathering skill. This stat can sometimes be found on weapons and armor, but you can increase your Gathering Luck right in the kitchen with the right ingredients.

1. Salted Poultry with Cabbage

If you hunt for rare resources like Petrified Wood or Whisperwood, your best bet to gather some without going bonkers is to consume Salted Poultry with Cabbage. This recipe gives a Logging Luck increase of 2000 for 40 minutes. Like any high-tier recipe, you will need a "Tier 5" kitchen to craft it, and you will not have access to the recipe itself until Cooking Level 159. To whip one up, throw together some Cabbage, Poultry, Nut, String Bean, Butter, Peppercorn, and Seasoning Blend. Be sure to have achieved Level 158 Cooking or higher, and use a "Tier 5" kitchen. With Fish Filet, Carrot, String Bean, Garlic, Butter, Rosemary, and Seasoning Blend, you can make your very own Savory Fish Cake to increase your chances of gathering resources like Shadowfur and Shifthide.

6. Spicy Steak Pie

If you are a bit more proficient in Cooking and need that extra Luck boost while Harvesting, we suggest cooking up a Spicy Steak Pie. You will need Corn, Red Meat, Seasoning Blend, Peppercorn, Butter, Carrot, and String Bean to make your own. This recipe requires a "Tier 5" kitchen and a Cooking Level of at least 157.

7. Breakfast Bread

You use your Harvesting skill whenever you gather fiber, herbs, produce, or mushrooms in New World.
